How much does it cost?

How Much Does it cost to get employees from DES?

One of the commonly asked questions business owners and managers want to know is: How much does it cost? Although this is a difficult question to answer without having any information about your company or what your needs are, I will try to do my best here to explain some general pricing guidelines.

We try to stay competitive with other agencies and although we are not the cheapest in town, we do have a variety of services for you to choose from. Whether you need one or one hundred and one employees for just a day, a couple months or are looking to add to your permanent staff, we will do our best to meet your employment and financial needs.

So, you may want either temporary or temp-to-hire (or temp-to-perm as some may call it) depending on your needs. Here at DES, we don’t differentiate between the two in regards to cost or services offered. You’ll get the same great quality regardless. With both options, you are guaranteed that all employees are E-Verified and background checked. Then, depending on what your employment requirements are, we can also do an extensive, national criminal records check, motor vehicle records check and/or in-house drug test. DES will also verify skills by either work history references or knowledge based testing. Rest assured, whatever your pre-employment needs are, DES will take care of it for you.

Our rates include many costs we incur ourselves such as Worker’s Compensation Insurance, unemployment insurance, payroll taxes, advertising expenses as well as other incidental employment costs. DES takes care of these things so you, the Client, don’t have to worry about them. All you have to do is call us and we send you a very qualified employee that fits your needs. When we figure out what the markup will be, we add that to the temporary employees hourly pay rate and this will be the total hourly bill rate you will be responsible for.

Now, you may be asking yourself, what will the employees pay rate be? It’s easy, you let us know what you want the employee to be paid. Our Account Executives at DES are very knowledgeable on industry standard pay rates and can offer you suggestions if you are unsure but remember, you have final say in what the pay rate will be.

One question we hear often is “Do I have to pay in advance?” No, DES does not ask for any money prior to an employee starting. You’re only responsible to pay for the hours our employees worked. Nothing more. In fact, even if you’re looking to make one of our employees your own, all we ask is that you keep the employee on our payroll a certain amount of hours. When they reach that, all you have to do is let DES know and we’ll take them off our payroll and you can put them on yours.

So now you’re wondering, “When can I hire them onto my payroll?” Well, we typically require 520 hours for the employee to remain on our payroll before you can hire them on. Our terms are customizable to your needs. What matters to you matters to DES! We generally have employees working anywhere from 3 to 6 months on temp-to-hire before becoming eligible for regular full time employment with your company. Again, we’ll work with you to come up with the best fit for both of us.

DES Employment Group will provide you with the usual temporary and/or temp-to-hire employees but did you know that we can also payroll any potential employees for you? I’m sure you have employees that tell you they have a friend, sibling or cousin that they feel would be a great fit for your company. But, if you’re not sure they’ll work out, or even if you’re looking for an efficient evaluation period for prospective employees, we’ll be happy to put them on our payroll so you can “try them out” basically risk free.

All you have to do is let us know you have someone you want to test out. We’ll put them through the same pre-employment checks we have and what you require. Then we’ll send them out to you and all you have to do is see if they’ll work out. If they don’t, you have no employer ties to them and we’ll try to find a position that may be better suited for them.

The best part of this option is our terms are customizable to your needs. Since DES’ recruiters didn’t have to search for these employees, our Account Executives will consider options to reduce your costs on pay-rolling an employee through DES Employment Group.

Finally, if you are looking for a direct hire, your cost will usually be around 20-25% of the employees first year’s salary. With a direct hire, you’ll still get all the pre-employment checks DES conducts along with what you require. You also can be as involved in the hiring process as you want to be. And, as in every case, you decide if you want the employee. If not, we continue the search and you don’t owe us a penny until the employee starts working for you.
