 What makes DES Employment Group different from other agencies?

DES focuses on customer service and the quality of employees. We don’t want to send you someone that will just “work for now.” We want to send you someone that will work for good. A DES representative will be at your job site checking in our employees on the first day of work. Then we’ll also follow up with both, you the client, and the employee, periodically after that. Every DES office has employee appreciation events, employee of the month awards, and referral bonuses for our employees as well. We’ve provided quality placements since 1999 and our customer service is second to none. DES guarantees our placements and you are never charged more than what the employee works for you on a contract-to-hire basis. One of our basic philosophies is “in-person” communication. You will be able to place a face with the voice of the DES representatives that will be taking care of you.

How will DES find different people than I will?

We don’t have a super-secret pool of people to choose from, so we will find the same applicants you will. The main difference is WE find them so that leaves YOU more time to run your business. We search resumes, not you, and send only the best options to you for review. DES will take care of the initial screening of employees, any testing and reference checks that need to be done so you are free to interview only the top candidates. We find our employees from referrals, various job boards DES subscribes to, job fairs, social media including DES’ own website, career fairs, etc. DES also works with local Chambers of commerce, state Workforce Developments, and area tech colleges to find you the best candidate. Every DES professional is always looking for candidates; whether at the grocery store, the gas station, the fitness center or wherever they may be, each day of the week.

How do you, screen people?

We have our own guidelines in all our offices which are: online applications, interviews, E-Verify, general background checks and drug screen checks. Then if you have needs on top of that, like skills testing or specific background checks, DES will take care of that as well. We can facilitate both state and national criminal history reports within just a few days. We can handle drug screenings at any of our office locations amongst the mid-west. Additional costs may apply. DES is often asked, “Can I interview the employee prior to you sending them?” You certainly can interview candidates first. We hire based on how you want us to. If you want us simply to send you someone at 8am to start, we can do that. Otherwise we can set up interviews prior to you starting them at your company.

Just that, the letters, D…E…S. It really doesn’t stand for anything. We’ve used these letters as an acronym in the past, like for “Doing Everything Safely”. But it’s simply the name of our company, DES Employment Group.

Your Account Manager initially, then the recruiter that is assigned to your account. The placement specialist, and Operations manager, that you will meet will take care of your staffing needs. The placement specialist will be doing the majority of the placements for you but the Operations Manager, and even Account Executive is also available. DES stresses a team environment and this approach is applied also to servicing your staffing needs.

We do everything in our power to make sure they do. We communicate the job location and description, the time and date the assignment starts and the expectations. Unfortunately, there will be a few that won’t show and those employees pretty much have determined their future with DES. We have also had some leave for lunch and not return to finish out the day. DES does everything possible to ensure that the candidates sent are qualified and secondly that all steps are taken to ensure they also have motivation and direction to present themselves to your place of employment with the integrity to do a good job. However, sometimes even the best candidate can seemingly pull the wool over one’s eye. When they leave our agency they have been prepped to the best of possibilities; however, the people factor – what they decide to do when they leave our office – is based solely on their action – an action we cannot control. Be assured DES will do our utmost to place the right individual. If someone walks off the job or does not show, we will do our best to find you a replacement ASAP. We have internal staff members available and dedicated to ensuring our employees arrive on time and are on-boarded to your company or business in the most efficient and effective way possible.

Yes. Simply let your Account Executive or recruiter know and they will put a call into our corporate office. Just let them know who would you like that sent to and what address. As soon as the request is submitted, you should have the information you need within 48 hours.
